The album will contain 12 tracks for the regular jewel case edition and 14 tracks on the limited edition digipack, both to be released on Century Media Records in January 2012. Artwork has once again been handled by the gruesome Justin Osbourn from Slasher Design and contains some of the most horrid, putrid and disgusting art the band has displayed to date, perfectly visualizing the album’s title and lyrical concept.

A video for the track “Origin Of Disease” has been shot in the UK this summer with director Phil Berridge (Cerebral Bore, etc).

“Given that I can’t tour with Aborted due to several other commitments, it only makes perfect sense that Ken Bedene, their touring drummer, would play drums on the new Aborted record instead of me. Ken is an awesome player and I’m absolutely certain he’ll do a fantastic job behind the kit! I had a blast being part of the band again after all these years, and Svencho and I will actively continue to collaborate in Bent Sea. Meanwhile, prepare for an insanely intense new Aborted opus! This said Dirk still had his part on the new record and we still actively cooperate on many things so no need to fear! Ken Bedene? That’s right, this little feller has been playing with us live since well, Coronary Reconstruction and pretty much put 15 songs on tape in merely 4 days with meticulous precision. 15 songs you say? Yup, we have tracked about 9 new tracks, redid 3 Coronary Reconstruction songs as the EP was very limited and we did not want the songs to go just on an EP, 2 Engineering the dead tracks as the album has its 10th anniversary this year and a special oooldschool cover song! More info soon on all that. We have started tracking guitars and bass already and can gladly say this will be the most crushing aborted record to date, hands down!

Thought we should update you with what’s going on in our camp. Needless to say these are extremely exciting times for the band right now as we are close to the beginnings of the recordings of our new album GLOBAL FLATLINE. Guitarist Eran Segal and Bassplayer JB Van de Wal will begin final pre-productions for the record starting tomorrow and will be joined by the rest of the band in about a week to fine tune everything and finish the writing on the record. We have taken our time to compose and digest every track for the record and to be honest we have never had this many ideas/songs floating for an album. Expect nothing but the most extreme and punishing record the band has EVER recorded. Artwork is also nicely taking shape and Justin Osbourne from Slasher design is turning it into a gruesome piece of terror for sure, so far the previews have been extremely promising and we cannot wait to see him finish this conceptual piece of art.

On other news we have just confirmed an exlusive show in Copenhagen/Denmark at THE ROCK. This will mark the end of the album recordings and lets make it a huge party so come on down and rage with us! Exclusive because we will be playing some new material for the very first time and a full set filled with tons of old songs we haven’t played in ages. Opening up will be By The Patient, a very promising and punishing act from Copenhagen, so make sure to come out and support both bands!

Merch wise we will have a big ass summer sale as we are getting rid of some of the older designs and getting a whole bunch of new stuff up so keep your eyes open for some sweet deals at our summer shows, which, will be announced real soon! The ltd FUCK DUBSTEP shirt is being reprinted, thanks for being patient for this, as soon as it is up again we will re-post it and make sure to be quick as we are only printing another 100 of these for now!

The artwork for Global Flatline will once again be handled by Justin Osbourne who previously worked with the band on its 2010 EP Coronary Reconstruction as well. We are thrilled to be finally recording GLOBAL FLATLINE and have the material out there. It is exciting in many ways, one being that this might be one of the most important records ABORTED’s career. We really took our time in composing the most heavy and uncompromising material the band has written to date. Some of the material is faster than ever, some of the material is slower than ever, some old school and some new school, inspired by all eras of Aborted, yet still sounding unique on its own.

Writing this record definitely took us back to the roots of why we started playing this kind of music in the first place, the passion and adrenaline you get from playing extreme metal.
Obviously it just isn’t a carbon copy of Goremageddon or Engineering The Dead or anything: there are plenty of new elements as well since we never believe in writing the same record. Those who checked out Coronary Reconstruction have had a small taste of what’s to come and we can guarantee you you won’t be disappointed with GLOBAL FLATLINE!

We are also very excited to be working again with Jacob Hansen, the man produced Goremageddon and The Haematobic EP and it was always a pleasure to work with him then, so this should be a blast.”

As far as touring goes that’ll have to wait a little as we are simply focussed on the record at this point. Confirmed dates are so far
Summer Breeze and Party San in Germany this summer, as well as the goregrowlers ball in San Antonio Texas this November.

Good news is that we are starting pre-productions for our upcoming record on january 4th. This means we will demo all the songs for the record, make sure everything sounds good and make the necessary adjustments to make sure they are all more lethal than a chainsaw in mr Leatherface’s hands. We’re all very excited about the material thus far and can’t wait to get this over with and proceed to the actual recordings later this year. Expect a fall 2011 release through our culprates in mayhem CENTURY MEDIA.
